I created this sculpture of a Lamassu between Thursday Aug. 12th and Friday Aug. 13 2021 using Blender’s sculpting function, and rendered the sculpture using Cycles.
I used this as practice for sculpting a high-resolution model in a short period of time. I picked the Lamassu as my subject because there are so many sculptures from the Assyrian Empire and their neighbors/successors that survive to this day in immaculate condition. Moreoever, I deeply admire the Assyrian people of today and their heritage, and I chose this model in their honor.
